RESIDENCIAL CARE

Lar Otília Lourenço, located in Vila de Abiul and in operation since December 2000, was officially opened on June 5, 2001 by the President of the Republic, Dr. Jorge Sampaio. It has a capacity for 37 elderly people, in 9 single rooms and 14 double rooms, all with private bathroom, own telephone, television circuit, air conditioning and heating.
Assistance is provided 24/24 hours, and has a permanent multidisciplinary technical staff, including assistant physician, nurse, physiotherapist, psychologist and animator, in addition to specialized help and auxiliary staff.
The facilities offer different living and social spaces, including a room for various activities with TV, two living rooms with table games areas, a library with internet space and a properly equipped gym.
Several sessions of cognitive, motor and sensory stimulation are held in the Multisensory Room, with specialized equipment where stimulation is assumed as an open door for the success of preservation, maintenance and acquisition of skills in the elderly.
Physical activities are developed and monitored by physiotherapy technicians. It also has a Medical and Nursing Office, Assisted Sanitary Facilities, Chapel, Hairdresser, and several spaces for technical and administrative support .
The building is surrounded by a leafy garden, a biological garden, varied rest areas, providing home customers with contact with nature and the outdoors, both in social and relaxing moments. Customers are motivated to develop various Artistic, Playful and Social Activities, of which the following stand out: the plastic and craft arts, cooking, motor, mental and sensory coordination games, recreational events, sightseeing tours, among others.
